| Tenant Education Housing List The Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless provides direct services through the tenant education training for those without housing. Individuals, families and domestic violence survivors are given quality, comprehensive, and up-to-date information on how to find and retain appropriate and safe housing. A consumer manual has been developed for prospective tenants that addresses the issues of landlord/tenant responsibilities, spending and saving, housing retention, safety, lead poisoning prevention, and advice on overcoming barriers to finding a place to live. To view the consumer manual click here. Housing Consumer Manual RI shelters have a good history of providing their folks with assistance finding permanent housing. We at the Coalition work to add to this by providing additional materials, scheduled trainings at the office, and on-site trainings throughout the state and in all shelters that request it. The program also provides new case managers with housing related information, materials, and training to assist them in using the consumer manual in group workshops.
Section 8 Program FAQ's for Landlords The Housing Choice Voucher program (formerly known and commonly referred to as Section 8) is the largest public housing program in the country and a primary source of affordable housing for struggling families. Back to Top |
